Is An Teallach the most beautiful mountain in Scotland?
An Teallach is found in the Northwest Highlands and honestly feels like it doesn’t belong in the UK! It’s such a dramatic group of peaks, particularly at this time of year when the snow has a way of making the grandeur of the landscape stand out even more. I braved a cold night on the ridge (lowest reading was -12 °C with the windchill) to enjoy a very memorable sunrise.
In temperatures like this it’s challenging enough just to get out of the sleeping bag, let alone stand in the wind all morning taking photos! So I never capture quite as many images as I’d like, but the ones I do get have a lot of sacrifice behind them and so mean a lot to me. My fingers are still cramping and swollen from these shots so I hope you enjoy them too!
With the winter months adding even more character and drama to the landscape, it definitely gets my vote not just in Scotland but as the most beautiful mountain found anywhere in the UK.
